Oh yes it’s that time again, time to say
SO WHAT!! As usual I’m linking up with Shannon over at "Life After I "Dew" and…
This week I'm saying:
So what if… While running errands this week I was in line
behind every single unorganized, completely oblivious person in our town? From
the lady returning a Keurig in a Publix bag to Kohl’s with no receipt or box, to
the couple returning a used lawn mower at Home Depot – also with no receipt – having
a 10-minute conversation about when they bought it. Yes. What started out as I’ll-just-be-a-few-minutes
turned into What-planet-am-I-on?
So what if… For the first time in my entire life I spent
a holiday completely alone? Yes this Easter was the first time in my history
that I was not with family on a holiday. I wasn’t able to go home so instead I
stayed home alone and completely focused on Project
Prepare for Baby 2012. I got so much done!! And yes I missed my family. But
in my life as a military spouse I can check off another “first”. Many military
spouses spend holidays alone… It just
comes with the territory!
So what if… I totally want a doula for our baby’s birth
but I haven’t even started interviewing anyone yet? I’ve only got 10 weeks left
in this pregnancy – yikes, I better get on it!!
So what if… I am making a return for something I purchased
in 2008? Um, yes that would be four years ago. It’s a doggy life jacket I got
for Daphne Doodle thinking she would need it as she entered her geriatric years.
But that dog is like a fishing bobber in the water! She’s weightless and she
just swims and swims and swims. No life jacket for her! Thank you LL Bean for
having a remarkable return policy!!
I'm really excited to hear about your doula experience! I think they are awesome... I never had one, but they sound amazing :) LL Bean does have an amazing return policy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie, I'm excited about it too :) After writing this post I contacted 4 doulas and am ready to start the interviewing process!!
DeleteWOW u can return after 4 years?? that is amazing! Sorry u were by yourself over the holiday. But I want to say thank you for being a military wife! I am forever grateful for you husband and what he does and by having a great supportive wife by his side.
ReplyDeleteThank you from our family to yours.
Awww thank you for such kind comments :) I am continually amazed by the army wives and families that I meet - I have learned so much!!
DeleteThat is ONE incredible return policy! And I thought Nordstrom's was lenient ; ) I recently read on someone's blog to check into a doula who is finishing up training, they are significantly less expensive (and perhaps more available since they have to get so many hours in) than a fully certified one. Of course, if cost isn't an issue for ya, go with the pro. I've never had one myself but have only heard good things! PS: I nominated you for a blog award ; )
ReplyDeleteThat is a GREAT idea - I will definitely see about a doula-in-training. And while I continue to believe that I will one day will the lottery and money won't be an issue, for now I'm always looking for a good deal! :) WHAT?! You nominated ME?? Tammy, this absolutely made my day!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I am so touched :)
