I had been thinking about this topic – Why Do I Blog – and was so excited to
discover Casey’s Link Up about this very thing over on her blog Stress Case!!
Why Do I Blog? I can sum it up in
two words: Suddenly Snowden, which incidentally is also the name of my
blog. Over the last year a lot of changes took place in my life – many of them
quite *suddenly*!
I decided to blog to keep my family and
friends updated on my new Suddenly Snowden life. I also hope that my blog will
be a bit of a journal of my life that I can look back on… but wait, isn’t that
why everyone blogs? Yeeeeesssss, and
because we love life and because we love other people’s lives we read their blogs, right?
So what are some of the changes that
contributed to the making of my Suddenly Snowden life?
Well after dating for 6 months, my
husband and I got engaged and 10 months later we were married.
We were going to wait just a bit to have
children but Mother Nature had other arrangements and now we’re expecting a
baby boy exactly one month after our 1-year wedding anniversary!
Well if that wasn’t enough to give me –
an *obsessive planner* and compulsive comfortable-in-her-ways type gal – a
sudden change to my little life and reason to start a blog, here’s what I write about on Suddenly Snowden:
After I got married I moved from
my *cute*, little, historic-downtown home in an Atlanta suburb, 4 hours away.
Was that hard for a girl who lived in the same town surrounded by family her
whole life? Honestly, yes… But being with the love of my life every day was
worth it! (and our small-town life is growing on me...)
Why did I move so far away? Well because
my husband is a pilot in the Army and you know how that goes, you don’t always
get to choose where you live. So enter the next “sudden” change … I’m an Army
Wife! Being from Atlanta I had very little exposure to what the Army is all
about. But WOW have I learned a lot and my whole perspective has changed!! Instead of being *afraid of
the unknown* I am *excited about the adventure* that our life will be!!
Another “sudden” change in my life is CrossFit.
Yes I am one of “those” people who is addicted to CrossFit. I tried it with my
husband once and immediately fell in love with the challenge... and the reward. I found
a gym here with a female coach who is an amazing
role model and mentor building
strength both inside and outside her clients. Addicted. Enough said.

As a result of getting involved in
CrossFit, I have also become a clean eater. That was a sudden change! My
husband and I don’t eat processed or un-natural foods. In a nutshell, if a
caveman didn’t eat it, we typically don’t eat it! We have both noticed that we
feel so much better since adopting a “clean” lifestyle! I try to post recipes
and pictures of some of our favorite foods on this blog.
Now of course there are exceptions to every rule! We don’t let clean eating
get in the way of attending dinner at a friend’s house, or having a date night
out, or even a stop at our favorite local doughnut shop on our way out of town…
We eat clean when we’re in our kitchen, in control of our meals, aside from
that we do live in the real world and we looooove good food!
In fact I had this yesterday… Don’t judge,
our baby boy wanted some…
So why do I blog? Suddenly I have a new last name, new
state, new military role, new work out program, new eating lifestyle, and very
soon I will have a new baby boy!
Suddenly there is a lot to share!
