Silent Sunday

We are home. WE ARE HOME!! It feels so incredibly wonderful to be home. To have our family under one roof. But more on that later… Since today is Silent Sunday, I am posting a few pictures from our last week in the NICU…

Baby Grant has been opening his eyes much more these days. He's taking in the world around him!
But post bath he looked very concerned:
What I looked forward to so much: napping with Parker on the days he visited!
What Parker looked forward to: playing on the hospital bed:

And eating the free chocolate ice cream!

Sweet Grant can hold onto that paci!

It was so special when my Honey was at the hospital with me and we get to love on our baby together.

It is hard to remember how small a 5 pound baby really is until you see him next to a newborn outfit! It comes down way past his knees. Here he is pictured with a premie outfit and a newborn outfit:
Parker has been having a ball at home with Twinkle! He went to play group, play dates, and played outside in his "wheels"!
My little peanuts. How did I get so lucky?!
This week we had three visitors and two care packages! One had something for both boys (and mommy too!). Thank you Aunt Lindsay, Uncle Ryan, David and Rachael! I love this sequence of Parker opening everything:
Grant will need these and I love that homemade granola!
We are so very thankful to be HOME! Now to find our new normal, our new balance, as a family of four!

Silent Sunday

Today marks our second full week in the NICU with two week old Baby Grant Henry. Here are some pictures of our life lately:
Little Grant:
On the days that Parker visits, we take an afternoon nap together. I look forward to it so much!
Baby Grant graduated to a crib this week!
And he modeled the difference in a premie and newborn outfit. The newborn size comes down to his knees!
Parker had a play date this week with some friends and was stealing kisses!
And Baby Grant tried milk from a bottle:
We are so in love with the newest member of our family and can't wait until we are all home together!

Silent Sunday

This edition of Silent Sunday is coming to you live from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Overland Park Regional Medical Center where Honey and I are currently "living" along with our new baby boy, Grant Henry. Here are a few pictures of our week so far!

We love holding Baby Grant! You can see the breathing apparatus, a C-PAP, he wore during his first few days:

It was so wonderful to have sweet friends visit us this week:
What about big brother Parker? Well he loves the free ice cream and having his lunch in mommy's bed on the days he visits!
Baby Grant, finally without any head gear! Hooray for breathing on your own little one!
His first sponge bath was a great success!
He has a few probes attached to his body to count oxygen saturation levels, heart rate, and blood pressure. At this point he doesn't have any cords going inside his body with the exception of a feeding tube!!
We are so in love with him already!!
What a sweetheart! (You can see his feeding tube here.)
One of the perks of having a baby brother in the NICU is getting to have your afternoon nap while cuddled up with mommy on the days you visit. We both love this time together!
When he is here, Parker is very, very busy taking his wheels through the hospital!
And always stopping to smell the flowers!

Silent Sunday

For this week's Silent Sunday I'm sharing pictures of our week spent in Tennessee house hunting...

These two were troopers on our 8+ hour drive!

Two adults, one toddler, and one dog for one week. Seriously?

Hotel Selfie! Parker is making his "truck sounds"...
House Hunting!
Hotel Breakfast with "Rudy" his little red Peek-a-whoo dog...
This little love woke up early one morning so we brought him to play in our bed before we all got up. He ended up getting warm and cozy and going back to sleep. So we all followed suit! Well except for me of course...
Fixture and appliance shopping for our new Tennessee home...
Family selfie! We were all ready for a nap by this point... It was an exhausting week!
I have to share this series of pictures of my two boys playing:

Have a great Sunday!!
