Five for Friday

Happy Friday! I hope you had a fabulous week and are as excited about today being Friday as I am! Here are my top five for this week:

[ONE]
Twinkle & Bing. My parents,  or as the grands call them Twinkle and Bing, are here this week and we have had so much fun! Our days have been a happy balance of exploring nearby areas and eateries as well as spending time at home playing and laughing with little Parker Bear! (More to come in a separate post about all the fun we've been having!)

[TWO]
Restful Mama. Speaking of my parents being here, I haven't so much as lifted a finger this week! (Lifting a 24 lb baby onto my hip, yes, but a finger, no.) My mom is such a great help with cooking, cleaning, folding, picking up... And my dad is too! He has been in charge of the dogs, cranking the car so it can warm in our frigid temps, and I even caught him vacuuming. So thankful for their giving hearts!

[THREE]
Cash & Truman. Cash's brother Truman belongs to my parents and so of course he is here visiting too. Cash loves his brother Truman sooooo much and we have so enjoyed watching them play together all week long!

[FOUR]
Little Walker. Parker is so very close to walking! Our goal of course is to have him up on his own before Baby Grant makes his debut. Go Parker!!!

[FIVE]
Baby Shower. Tonight some sweet neighbors are throwing a baby shower for Baby Grant and me. I can't wait to celebrate him with my fellow Army wives and Kansas friends! As an added bonus, my mom will be going with me!!

I hope you had a wonderful week!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday! Here are my top five for this week:

[ONE]
The Snow. Er, the lack of snow, finally! The 15" that dumped on us over two weeks ago has finally melted. There are a few little clumps here and there but for the most part we are snow-free!
[TWO]
The Glorious Sun. The reason we don't have any snow is because the sun was out for two days this week and we reached 55 fabulous degrees! Parker, Cash, and I took full advantage of the beautiful weather!
[THREE]
Twinkle and Bing. My parents, Twinkle & Bing, are coming to visit us!! We can't wait to see them and spend time playing and exploring more of Kansas while they are here!! Hurry up Twinkle & Bing!
[FOUR]
Eating. Recently I shared a bit about our food battles with Parker on my Facebook page and I am planning to post an update here on my blog soon. But lately he's opened up to eating a few more foods and I'm so thankful! While we are no where near where we need to be with him, a small improvement is still improvement! Here he is at lunch yesterday being - but not eating - a little ham:

[FIVE]
My Husband. He folded three loads of laundry this week. In addition to helping me with the dishes after dinner each night. I love that he knows when I'm drained and helps out where he can! After all, growing a tiny human in your womb all day long is no small feat, am I right? But seriously, I am so thankful for that man.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday! Here are my top five for this week:

[ONE]
Super Bowl Sunday. We had fun watching the game and eating snacks at home and Parker was absolutely adorable wearing this:
[TWO]
Snow Day(s). We had the best time playing outside and sledding! It's going to be a fun winter here in Kansas!
[THREE]
Having Honey Home. Even Honey got to stay home and enjoy a snow day with us. It was fun being snowed in altogether!
[FOUR]
Beep Beep. Here comes the Jeep! Parker has been pushing this jeep all over the place! Ever since we showed him how to "turn" it he is unstoppable!
[FIVE]
Party Time. We finally settled on a date and location for Parker's second birthday party! I can't wait to celebrate our sweet boy! (More on that later...)

Have a fabulous weekend all!

Five on Friday

This week was a good week! Here are my top five from this week:

[ONE]
Easy Dinners. Music to any mom's ears! I tried some new recipes this week and they were a huge hit in our home. I can't wait to share them on the blog because who can say no to an easy dinner that also happens to be good? Hint: they involve this guy...
[TWO]
Green Drinks. We I have been using our new Vitimix to make green smoothies each morning and Honey and I are both loving it! I'm trying different recipes so that we don't get bored (thank you Pintrest!) but getting a great dose of vegetables first thing in the morning feels pretty darn good!
[THREE]
Moisturizer. It is no secret that I am a devoted believer in the importance of anti-aging products for our skin. I was getting concerned about this dry Kansas winter and (as usual) my mom came to the rescue with a new (to me) moisturizer to start using. Ahhh, hydration is so good for the skin!
[FOUR]
Tunnel Vision. In play group this week Parker was uncertain about crawling through a tunnel in the indoor play set. After watching his friend Everett do it and some cheering-on from me and some other mommies, he finally crawled through the tunnel! There was quite a celebration afterward!
[FIVE]
Girl Time. Yesterday I hosted a ladies luncheon with the wonderful ladies on our street. Girl time is so important! I'm so glad we all made time to get together. Everyone brought a dish and it was so nice to have that time together!
Happy Friday All! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Five on Friday

Yes I was supposed to post this yesterday but I didn't so why can't I have my Five on Friday... on Saturday? Exactly.

[ONE]
Parker and I are LOVING week #2 of both Music Class and Play Group. For the new year I decided to sign us up for some fun activities to enjoy during our last few months "just us" before baby brother makes his debut. And now I am regretting not doing these things sooner! We have so much fun and are both making new friends!
[TWO]
Honey busted out three rustic Pallet Shelves for Parker's big boy room. I can't wait to hang them for our big boy as well pull his new room together!

[THREE]
We had sushi take out this week from a local place and I loved every chopstick licking bite! Of course I didn't eat any of the raw stuff being that I'm preggers and all but it was some good stuff all the same.

[FOUR]
This week had some emotional lows for our family. We weren't alone this week as it seems there were sad things happening in the lives of many close to us. My number four for this week is that Parker and I stayed home on Thursday and tried to play and laugh and stay warm. It was the only day we didn't leave the house and we (well, I) really needed that day with this cutie.
[FIVE]
We had a super fun play date with one of our new friends from play group! Parker and I have both enjoyed meeting so many wonderful new people during our time here in Kansas!!

Have a great weekend!

H54F The Birthday Edition

 photo H54Fbutton-1_zpsa7aaa665.png
Six weeks. That's the age difference between Honey and I. I'll let you guess which one of us is older...

Well my sweet husband's birthday was Monday (yes, on Labor Day!) and we had so much fun celebrating the fact that he was born. My High Five For Friday (H54F) this week is all about celebrating my Honey's birthday! Oh the fun we had!

ONE: We started the celebration on Friday when I announced that I would be making all of his favorite dinners all weekend long!

Friday night was taco night followed by our evening tradition of a family wagon ride.
TWO: Saturday we spent the morning exploring a nearby town and found a fabulous pizza restaurant. The best part of the day? Parker saw three trains! Three trains passed right through town while we were there!

Saturday night was breakfast for dinner night. And Honey? Did a little dance when I told him.
THREE: Sunday we went to a church we have been visiting and then Honey spent the rest of the day dove hunting. He brought home 13 doves! Parker Bear and I decided to take advantage of the final days of the pool being open and spent some time getting some good Vitamin D!

FOUR: Monday we went into Kansas City to celebrate Honey's birthday by eating lots and lots of meat at Fogo De Chao. We also walked around the gorgeous plaza and visited the World War II museum.

That evening Parker Bear and I gave Honey his birthday presents buts we were too full for birthday cake. We were too full to even eat dinner.

FIVE: But don't worry, the next night we had one of Honey's favorite dinners, Eggplant Parmesan and then enjoyed a homemade, from scratch, clean cake!

It was such a fun weekend! Happy birthday Honey! We are so glad that you were born!!

THREE - This week Parker and I spent one day at home all.day.long. It was so much fun to have the day to play in our playroom, take our time with breakfast and lunch, go outside to swing, take a wagon ride around our hood. It was just a good day. All the way around!
FOUR - I am hosting my first ever G I V E  A W A Y !! Check back soon for the big announcement and enter to win a custom made monogram tabletop frame - so excited!

It's Friday! I know, I know what you are thinking... the last time I proclaimed it was a certain day I was wrong. But today, IT IS FRIDAY!! I am linking up with Lauren Elizabeth to share my top 5 for this week!

Here is what I am saying High Five for Friday about:

1. Parker loves, and I mean L O V E S, his new red wagon! We took several wagon walks this week:

2. On Tuesday I took some Mommy time to get a pedicure. Finally! And not pictured is the latte from Starbucks I also enjoyed. Ahhhhh:

3. Honey and I grill out every chance we get. Even in winter! But this lovely weather just makes us want to grill out every night! We grilled three times this week:

4. My sweet husband planted two pots of these gorgeous flowers on our front porch. Thanks Love!

5. Operation Pack-For-The-Beach is in full effect at our house this week! I have been so on top of it this time around I almost don't even recognize myself! Bags ready to go:

Happy Friday! I hope you have a great day today!
